2025 Series kicks off at the Momentum gym in Utah
The first IFSC Para Climbing World Cup of the year took place at Momentum gym in Salt Lake City, Utah with climbers travelling from around the world, including El Salvador who had the first athletes from the nation competing.
Nineteen sport classes took to the Lead wall on a busy day of qualification with the finals line-ups decided with the qualified climbers still in with a shot at a World Cup medal. They are set to battle it out for the first podiums of the three event 2025 series.
WHAT THEY SAID:
Lee SHAFFER (USA)
“My first World Cup was great. I’ve only been climbing for about ten months or so and I got to come to my first World Cup and top a qualifying route. I was a little disappointed on the second route, but I came, and I learned a lot from the experience. For sure there will be more to come.”
“Having a World Cup at home in the USA is great. Travel is easy, but more than that you get to inspire a lot of people.”
