IFSC President Marco Scolaris was welcomed on 19 May at the Argentine Olympic Committee (COA) headquarters by COA President Mario Moccia, Secretary General Víctor Sergio Groupierre, President of the Argentine Federation of Ski and Mountaineering (FASA) and COA advisor Magdalena Kast, and FASA Sport Climbing Commission member Agustin Sisamon, to promote the future of Sport Climbing in the region.

During the meeting, they discussed, among other topics, the inclusion of the sport in the Santa Fe South American Games 2026, and the creation of a South American hub at the Olympic Park.

The importance of creating a lasting legacy of infrastructure that guarantees better training conditions for climbers and the possibility of hosting international-level competitions throughout the region was also considered.

The authorities agreed that a specific action plan is needed to ensure that the sport continues to grow ahead of the Los Angeles Olympics.
