IFSC President and Secretary General move from Switzerland to Italy representing Climbing
The IFSC was represented at the IF Forum by SportAccord by IFSC President Marco Scolaris and Secretary General Piero Rebaudengo who were among the participants at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Opened by IOC President Kirsty Coventry, the meeting was a showcase of the unique expertise of the event’s partners Marsh, Explore Edmonton, Sport Event Denmark, Dawson Andrews and Signify.
Each of the partners shared SportAccord’s aim to use the IF Forum as a platform for leaders to connect, exchange ideas and shape the future of sport.
The next edition of the IF Forum will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan in May 2026.
Following the forum, Scolaris and Rebaudengo moved onto Rome, Italy for fruitful meetings with the European Olympic Committee (EOC), the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP).
Discussions were held with Peter Brull, Sport Director of the EOC, on Climbing’s participation at the next European Games in Istanbul 2027, an event which will serve as an Olympic qualifier.
Scolaris and Rebaudengo also had the chance to meet CONI’s President Luciano Bonfiglio to update him about the next Olympic steps, and CIP’s President Marco Giunio De Sanctis and Secretary General Simone Rasetti, with an agenda regarding the sports Paralympic debut at LA28.
