IFSC NATIONS GRAND FINALE 2025 TO BRING TEAM CLIMBING ACTION TO FUKUOKA

The invitation-only event will feature six top nations and new strategic team formats across Boulder and Lead.

The IFSC is set to launch an exciting new event this autumn with the IFSC Nations Grand Finale 2025, taking place in Fukuoka, Japan, from 23 to 26 October. This invitation-based competition will celebrate some of the the strongest national teams in the circuit, combining innovation, strategy, and international rivalry.

The six top-ranked teams from the IFSC Team World Cup Ranking 2025 in Boulder and Lead have earned their place at the starting line: Japan, France, Slovenia, Austria, USA, and Great Britain. Each nation will bring a team of two men and two women, with the option to add one reserve athlete per gender.

All team members will compete in both Boulder and Lead, facing off under newly developed formats. A key element of the IFSC Nations Grand Finale will be the active involvement of national team coaches, who will work closely with athletes to develop tactical approaches to the new formats.

The competition draws inspiration from the Boulder Mixed Team event successfully tested in Salt Lake City, USA, in May 2021, evolving that concept into a two-discipline challenge with greater complexity and team dynamics.

In parallel with the Nations Grand Finale, Fukuoka will also host an IFSC Para Climbing Master, showcasing elite athletes from the eight sport classes announced for the LA28 Paralympic Games. These include:

  • Men’s B1, AU2, AL2, and RP1
  • Women’s B2, AU2, AL2, and RP1

Further details about the event schedule, team rosters, and competition format will be announced in the coming weeks.
