Lead competition featured for the first time at the 12th Central American Games in Guatemala.
Climbing was included for the first time in the official programme of the Central American Games, whose 12th edition was held in Guatemala City, Guatemala, in October 2025. The milestone marks an important step forward in the development of the sport within the regional Olympic cycle and reflects its growing presence across Central America.
Athletes from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Costa Rica competed in the Lead discipline, with events taking place from 27 to 30 October.
The event was successfully organised and delivered to IFSC standards, setting a strong precedent for future competitions in the region, and supporting the continued expansion of Climbing throughout Central America.
