SIX MEDAL EVENTS AND A RECORD ATHLETE QUOTA

Climbing will award six Olympic gold medals in Los Angeles – two more than at Paris 2024 and triple the number from its debut at Tokyo 2020.

The number of athletes will also reach a new high, with 76 climbers set to compete in Los Angeles, compared to 68 at Paris 2024 and 40 at Tokyo 2020, reflecting Climbing’s growing popularity and recognition within the Olympic movement.

LONG BEACH CLIMBING THEATER TO HOST ALL EVENTS

All Olympic Climbing competitions will be held at the Long Beach Climbing Theater, one of the venues located within the Long Beach Zone. Nested along the Southern California coastline, the venue will also host Para Climbing events during the Paralympic Games, providing a shared, iconic setting for both Olympic and Paralympic athletes in the summer of 2028.
