Sport Climbing will once again feature at the Pan American Games
Sport Climbing will be one of the 36 sports on the program for the XX Pan American Games Lima 2027.
The decision was made by the Panam Sports Executive Board, which considered the preferences of the 41 National Olympic Committees members of the Organisation.
Thirty-three sports were chosen according to the preferences of the National Olympic Committees and three were chosen by the Lima 2027 Organising Committee.
IFSC President Marco Scolaris said: "Events like the Pan American Games give us the opportunity to showcase and grow our sport worldwide, and I’m sure once again we will take a step forward in the region after being chosen as one of the 36 sports at Lima 2027.
"I want to express my gratitude to Panam Sport and its President Neven Ilic for this decision, and to all our Federations in the continent for their commitment."
President of Panam Sports, Neven Ilic said: "As Panam Sports we have taken a very important step with the approval of the 36 sports for Lima 2027. We followed a very democratic process among all the National Olympic Committees and today, the Executive Board has confirmed the sports of the Program of our Pan American Games".
The Lima 2027 Pan American Games will be held on July 16th to August 1st, 2027, with the participation of more than 7,000 athletes from the 41 countries of the continent.
