Japanese star leads the field into the men’s Boulder final at the IFSC Climbing World Cup Curitiba 2025.
ANRAKU LEADS ONCE AGAIN
The men’s Boulder semi-final took place today, 17 May, at the IFSC Climbing World Cup Curitiba 2025, with eight climbers advancing to tonight’s final. Japan’s Anraku Sorato delivered the top score of 99.6 points, becoming the only athlete to top all four boulders in the round.
Fellow Japanese climber Narasaki Tomoa followed in second place with 84.9 points, thanks to three flashes on the first three boulders. France’s Mejdi Schalck claimed third with 83.9 points.
FINALISTS DECIDED
Behind the top three, Austria’s Jan-Luca Posch earned fourth place with 68.5 points, followed by Slovenia’s Anze Peharc in fifth with 59.4. Japan placed two more athletes in the final, with Amagasa Sohta taking sixth at 59.2 points and Fujiwaki Yuji seventh with 58.9. France’s Paul Jenft secured the final spot with a score of 54.9.
“I must say I’m really happy with my climbing,” said Peharc. “I finally managed to compose myself and show my best. Maybe boulder number two wasn’t my best performance because I chose the wrong beta for five minutes, so I didn’t even try the right solution. Overall, I felt relaxed. The atmosphere was really good and I managed to show my best.”
