IFSC SUPPORTS NATIONAL COACHING COURSE IN VENEZUELA

Level 1 course held in Caracas in May

The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) proudly contributed to the recent National Certification of Sport Climbing Coaches (Level 1) course, held on 22–23 May at the Venezuelan Olympic Committee headquarters.

The initiative was coordinated by the Venezuelan Federation of Sport Climbing (FEVED), led by its president, Ms. Osdaly Haché, who reached out to the IFSC to explore the possibility of including international speakers in the course.

“Building the capacity of national coaches is essential for the growth of climbing in our region,” said Ms. Haché. “We’re grateful to the IFSC for supporting our efforts with expertise and meaningful dialogue.”

Two presentations were delivered on behalf of the IFSC. Daniel Serman (CHI), Coach and Technical Director of FEACH and Assistant Event Delegate, led a session on Training Methodology in Sport Climbing, offering practical strategies adapted to the realities of South American countries.

Toni Roy, IFSC Consultant and Assistant Event Delegate, presented Leadership and Team Management – Reflections, prompting future coaches to reflect on their values and leadership approach through a series of open-ended questions.

This collaboration marks another step in the IFSC’s commitment to coach education and the development of climbing in Pan America.
