IFSC PRESENTED OFFICIALS’ PATHWAY OF CAREER AND EDUCATION IN TELECONFERENCE WITH MEMBER FEDERATIONS

Marco Scoalris, President of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), addressed the IFSC Member Federations in a teleconference held on Monday, 16 October.

President Scolaris started the meeting by presenting some of the most important decisions taken during the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Mumbai, India: including, but not limited to, the introduction of five additional sports in the programme of LA28, and the dates and location of the Olympic Qualifier Series.

The IFSC President also unveiled the calendar of the highly anticipated IFSC World Cup Series 2024, comprised of nine events, spread across seven countries and three continents.

The main part of the teleconference saw IFSC Research & Development Director Silvia Verdolini present the IFSC Officials’ Pathway of Education – a revision of the career progression paths of Judges, Jury Presidents and Routesetters, from National to International level, comprising of a new education framework.

The call was organised at both 10:00 (UTC+2:00) and 16:00, to accommodate all time-zones and guarantee the largest number of participants.
