The USA based company has been partner of the IFSC since 2016 and is one of the longest standing partnerships.
The IFSC is pleased to announce the renewal of its long-term partnership with Perfect Descent, the official supplier of auto belay systems for Speed Climbing, through the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
This extension marks nearly a decade of collaboration between the two organisations, with the partnership originally established in 2016 and previously renewed in 2022. Since the beginning, Perfect Descent has had an important role in the evolution of Speed Climbing at international level, providing technology and support alongside the sport’s growth and inclusion in the Olympic programme.
"As the sport continues to reach new levels of performance and global appeal, it is essential that our equipment partners evolve alongside us," said IFSC President Marco Scolaris. "Perfect Descent has been with us from the start of our Olympic journey in Toyko and then for Paris, and we are proud to continue this relationship together ahead of Los Angeles in 2028."
In response to rising athletic standards and faster competition times, the IFSC conducted a comprehensive round table in 2024 with speed athletes and team officials to redefine auto belay performance requirements.
In line with these enhanced requirements, Perfect Descent has launched the new Speed PRO auto belay model developed specifically for competitive Speed Climbing. The Speed PRO is fully compliant with the IFSC’s latest specifications and is now available commercially.
