For the 23rd time, the beautiful city in the French Alps will welcome the best climbers in the world.
The IFSC Climbing World Cup Chamonix 2025 is the 414th World Cup event in history, featuring the 234th Lead and 144th Speed World Cup competition. Also, it is the 23rd Climbing World Cup held in Chamonix – only Kranj, Slovenia, held more – and the 68th in France.
ATHLETES’ HIGHLIGHTS
This year's four previous Speed competitions in Wujiang, China; Bali, Indonesia; Denver, Colorado, USA; and Krakow, Poland; had different winners in both women's and men's events: Zhang Shaoqin of China, Aleksandra Miroslaw of Poland, Emma Hunt of the USA, and Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi of Indonesia in the female category; Long Jianguo of China, Samuel Watson of the USA, Kiromal Katibin of Indonesia, and Raharjati Nursamsa of Indonesia in the men's one.
Patrycja Chudziak and Aleksandra Miroslaw of Poland are set to compete in their 47th and 46th Speed World Cup competition – they are seventh and eighth in the all-time ranking. Reza Alipour Shenazandifard of Iran will make his 45th start, and Erik Noya Cardona of Spain will make his 25th.
No athlete has started in more World Cup competitions than Canada's Sean McColl, who is set to make his 68th in Lead – where he will move in the top 10 all-time – and 176th overall. Italy's Stefano Ghisolfi, ranked fifth all-time in Lead starts and seventh all-time in overall starts, is also registered to compete in Chamonix.
Fresh off a silver medal at rthe European Cup in Ostermundigen, Switzerland, Julia Chanourdie of France is expected to compete in her 51st Lead competition. Her teammate Hélène Janicot is making her 76th and is ninth all-time in women's Lead starts.

THE PROGRAMME
The three-day event will open on Friday night, with Speed qualifications warming up the city's square at 19:00 (UTC+2:00). Lead qualifications are scheduled to open day two, Saturday 12, starting from 9:00, while Speed finals are set to start at 21:00. Lead semi-finals and finals will close the programme on Sunday 13, respectively starting at 10:00 and 20:30.
