The IFSC European Qualifier in Laval, France, officially commenced with the qualification round of the women’s Boulder & Lead event, selecting the top 20 climbers advancing to the semi-final.
The round concluded with a streak of Lead tops that projected Oriane Bertone of France and Laura Rogora of Italy in first and second position, respectively, at the end of the qualification.
Prior to securing the highest quickdraw of the route, both climbers put together a fantastic performance on the Boulder wall too, only ending up being separated by 0.4 points – 99.8 for Bertone 99.8, with a total of 199.8 points; and 99.4 for Rogora, and a total of 199.4.
Third place in the qualification ranking was taken by Serbia’s Stasa Gejo, who climbed a great Boulder round, worth of 99.7 points, followed up with a strong 96.1-point show in the Lead phase, concluding her round with 195.8 points.
Also topping the Lead route were France’s Zélia Avezou, Manon Hily, and Hélène Janicot; and Slovenia’s Mia Krampl and Vita Lukan – all placed in the top 10.

The IFSC European Qualifier Laval 2023 will continue tomorrow with the men’s Boulder & Lead qualification, starting at 9:00 (UTC+2:00) with the Boulder phase, followed at 16:00 by the conclusive Lead phase. All semi-finals and finals will be live streamed on the IFSC YouTube channel
