German double win in Austria

Gold for Jan Hojer and Juliane Wurm in Innsbruck.

Only a stone's throw from the Golden Roof ("Goldenes Dachl") the fifth stop of the IFSC World Cup season 2013 celebrated a big climbing party at the Marktplatz in Innsbruck from May 16th to 18th. But the final competition brought a result in black-red-golden. Germany’s Jule Wurm who already finished second at the European Championships 2010 in Innsbruck and local heroine Anna Stöhr, leader after the semi-finals, fighted an exciting duel: Both women topped out on all four final Boulder problems, in closing one attempt decided about gold, silver and Jule Wurms first victory of in 2013!

First World Cup win ever for Jan Hojer

In the men’s competition Austria’s Kilian Fischhuber was the only athlete flashing three out of four final problems, a pay freeze at boulder number three (no top, no bonus) means place three in the end result for the previous year’s winner. Gold goes two Germany new strong man Jan Hojer, reigning world champion Dmitrii Sharafutdinov gained place three and therewith his fourth podium of the season. holt sich mit Platz zwei in Innsbruck seinen vierten Stockerplatz der Saison.
