HIGHAMS' HIGHLIGHTS: IFSC WORLD CUP BRIXEN 2023

Throughout the 2023 season, the IFSC will bring some interesting facts and figures ahead of our events, in association with statistician Paul Highams. The next set of stats is for the upcoming World Cup event taking place in Brixen, Italy, from 9 to 11 June 2023 at Vertikale Kletterzentrum Brixen.

HIGHLIGHTS

The IFSC World Cup Brixen 2023 will be the 388th World Cup event in the history of the IFSC – the second taking place in Brixen and the 58th in Italy. The event will feature the 147th men’s and women’s Boulder competitions.

NUMBERS

A total of 184 athletes from 45 countries are registered for the event:

  • 86 in women’s Boulder; and
  • 98 in men’s Boulder.

ATHLETES' STATS

Male competitors:

  • 13 previous winners of a Boulder World Cup in the start list
  • 20 athletes have previously been on the podium at a Boulder World Cup
  • 26 athletes have previously made a Final at a Boulder World Cup

Female competitors:

  • Five previous winners of a Boulder World Cup in the start list
  • 13 athletes have previously been on the podium at a Boulder World Cup
  • 30 athletes have previously made a Final at a Boulder World Cup

DEBUTS

There will be country debuts at a senior IFSC World Cup for:

  • El Salvador - one male and one female competing
  • Cambodia - one male and one female competing
