IFSC President Meets with IOC and FIG in Lausanne, Switzerland
Earlier this month, IFSC President Marco Maria Scolaris travelled to Lausanne, Switzerland, to meet with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) at the recently opened Olympic House.
Meeting with the Sport Department of the Olympic Games, President Scolaris was thrilled at the support received for Sport Climbing.
“As momentum increases in our approach to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, so too does the interest in and support for our sport. Meeting with the IOC enabled us to debrief following the IFSC Climbing World Championships in Hachioji last month and subsequently, to plan our direction for the 2020 Games. Let’s keep climbing to Tokyo and beyond,” says President Scolaris.
Joining FIG President Morinari Watanabe for lunch in Lausanne, President Scolaris continued discussions surrounding the development of urban sports.
