Six New Members Join the IFSC Athletes’ Commission

Following elections which took place during the IFSC Climbing World Championships 2019 in Hachioji, Japan, the IFSC Athletes’ Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of six (6) new members.

Holding a fundamental role within the IFSC, the IFSC Athletes’ Commission ensures that athlete voices are heard and their opinions considered, with regards to the future development of Sport Climbing. Newly elected members will join Athletes’ Commission President Sean McColl, along with existing members elected during the IFSC Climbing World Championships 2016 in Paris, France, in representing their specialist disciplines on the Commission. Those elected in 2014 have now come to the end of their term and will no longer serve on the IFSC Athletes’ Commission.

“We’re in the midst of an extremely exciting period of growth and change for our sport, so now more than ever, it’s imperative that the voices of the athletes are heard. Those joining the Athletes’ Commission will be working to guide Sport Climbing through its first Olympic Games next summer, making certain that athletes remain at the centre of our sport. I’m looking forward to hearing what the new Commission members have to say and would also like to thank those leaving the Commission for their work to further develop Sport Climbing,” says Sean McColl, President of the IFSC Athletes’ Commission.
