IFSC Saddened by the Loss of Honorary Member

It is with deepest regret that the IFSC announces the passing of CFR (Climbing Federation of Russia) Vice President and IFSC Honorary Member Mr. Yuriy Skurlatov, aged 77.

Dedicating over fifty years of his life to Sport Climbing, Mr. Skurlatov acted as CFR Vice President from 1994 to the present, as well as being the CFR Head Coach from 2007 - 2010. Having made huge contributions to the development of Sport Climbing both in Russia and internationally, Mr. Skurlatov has been recognised as an IFSC Honorary Member since 2011 and will be dearly missed not only by the IFSC, but by the Sport Climbing community as a whole.

“Yuriy was a great asset to our sport but more than this, he was a true friend. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time,”   says IFSC President Marco Scolaris.
