The IFSC is a young and healthy organisation, founded on the modern sport values and cultivating them along with sport growth and development.
About Sport Climbing
Sport Climbing has extremely attractive and positive characteristics: it combines strong natural foundation with thrilling human challenges in the physically demanding yet safe conditions.
Sport Climbing can be practiced indoor or outdoor, in the natural environment or on the walls. Sport climbing is accessible to millions around the globe and is non-discriminatory regarding age, gender and physical ability.
Climbing is a basic human movement (we learn to climb before we walk!) allowing the development of both physical (strength, balance, coordination) and mental (self-confidence, trust in others, discipline) skills.
Sport Climbing is:
- Logical (from the bottom to the top)
- Accessible to all age groups and populations (indoor or outdoor)
- Social (as a meeting place)
- Environmental (low impact on environment / low energy consumption)
- Challenging (highly technical, mentally and physically demanding)
- Fair (judgement with clear rules and regulations)
IFSC Partnership program
The IFSC has set up a structured partnership program that creates conditions for partners to actively participate in the development of Sport Climbing alongside the international Federation.
In particular, the IFSC is committed to activate a greater level of interest and understanding of the youth for a healthy lifestyle that espouses the values of competition, fair play and the unique attributes of Sport Climbing.
The IFSC is actively promoting sport climbing and its partners notably through web-based TV and social networks. Recently, the IFSC has also dramatically increased its global reach through TV broadcasting deals which sees footage of the competitions broadcasted in over 130 countries.
We are looking for committed partners sharing the same vision and passion for our sport and lifestyle.
