TEAM JAPAN PLACES SIX CLIMBERS IN THE MEN’S BOULDER SEMI-FINAL
The sixth, and final installment of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Boulder World Cup season 2022 kicked off in Innsbruck, Austria, with the qualification rounds.
Team Japan dominated the men’s event, taking first position in the two qualification groups with Kawamata Rei and Ogata Yoshiyuki, respectively, and moving six total climbers into tomorrow’s semi-final: Rei – with four tops and five zones – Ogata – with five and five – Yamaguchi Kento, Narasaki Tomoa, Fujii Kokoro, and Takata Tomoaki.
Competing in his hometown, Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Jakob Schubert of Austria closed his round with the perfect score – five tops and five zones – placing third in group B and fifth overall.
