GROSSMAN, GIBERT AT THE TOP OF THE WOMEN’S QUALIFICATION RANKING IN BRIXEN

The fifth stage of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup Series 2022 kicked off this morning, at the Vertikale Stadium in Brixen, Italy, with the women’s Boulder qualification round.

Fanny Gibert of France, and Natalia Grossman of the United States of America placed at the top of their respective group, both with five tops and five zones.

Competing in her first-ever World Cup event, 16-year-old Luo Zhilu of China also finished with five tops and five zones, taking second place in group B and third overall. Also, third in the final ranking, Hannah Meul of Germany concluded her round with five and five, and a higher number of attempts than Grossman.

The IFSC World Cup in Brixen will continue this afternoon, with the men’s Boulder qualification round scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM (UTC+2:00).
