IFSC ANNOUNCES NEW TV DEAL IN INDONESIA
The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) is pleased to announce that a one-year broadcasting deal has been reached with Indonesia’s public free-to-air broadcaster TVRI to show live coverage of IFSC World Cup events starting immediately.
The deal follows the successful Boulder and Speed World Cup events in Salt Lake City (USA) last month and will see TVRI begin its involvement with Sport Climbing with the Boulder World Cup in Brixen (ITA) this weekend.
The globally recognized TVRI was the rights holder in Indonesia for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The company plans to leverage the new deal to further promote the sport of climbing in Indonesia while underlining its ability to broadcast top-class sports events as it aims to secure the rights for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The coverage of the Brixen event will be shown on TVRI Sport HD channel and will include the live broadcasts of the men’s and women’s finals.
Securing the agreement is another sign of the global interest in Sport Climbing and builds on the multi-year deal for Europe concluded with Discovery Sports earlier this year.
