BIRMINGHAM 2022 ADDS NINE MORE CLIMBERS TO STREAM OF PARTICIPANTS
Following last week’s official confirmation of three reigning World Champions, nine more climbers have been confirmed to participate at the upcoming, 11th edition of The World Games.
The multi-sport event, scheduled to take place from 7 to 17 July in Brimingham, Albama, USA, will see a total of 72 athletes compete in Boulder, Lead, and Speed, with 12 men and 12 women participating in each discipline.
In addition to Danyil Boldyrev of Ukraine, the men’s Speed event now enlists Indonesian sensations Veddriq Leonardo and Kiromal Katibin, Polish specialist Marcin Dzienski, and Junior World Champion Iaroslav Pashkov of Russia.
United States’ Emma Hunt, Poland’s Patrycja Chudziak, Russia’s Ekaterina Barashchuk, and Germany’s Franziska Ritter join Moscow 2021 gold medalist Natalia Kalucka of Poland in the women’s Speed event.
Finally, Boulder World Cup winner Ogata Yoshiyuki becomes the second Japanese climber signed up to compete in the men’s Boulder event alongside his teammate Fujii Kokoro.
