The men’s and women’s Lead qualification rounds kicked off under a bright, warm sun at the Parc Des Sport in Briançon, France, where the seventh IFSC World Cup of the 2021 season is currently taking place.

Slovenia’s Luka Potocar and United States’ Natalia Grossman finished atop the men’s and women’s ranking, respectively.

Potocar placed slightly ahead of Italian expert climber Stefano Ghisolfi, with the Slovenian pairing a 33 on route 1 with a 30+ on route 2, and Ghisolfi concluding the round with a double 32+.

Six- time World Cup medalist Natalia Grossman ruled the women’s qualification round, reaching the highpoint on both routes – 34+ and 36 – and finishing ahead of Lucka Rakovec of Slovenia, who secured hold number 33+ on the first route, and 35+ on the second one.
