IFSC WELCOMES ITS 95TH MEMBER FEDERATION: PUERTO RICO
The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) is pleased to welcome its 95th Member Federation: the Federación Puertorriqueña de Escalada, representing Puerto Rico.
Founded in July 2020, the FEDPR presents a strategic plan that includes the following mission: to encourage and support the development and growth of Sport Climbing and climbers of all ages and abilities, and to produce world class athletes.
In spite of being one of the youngest IFSC Member Federations, a Puerto Rican Sport Climbing National Championship was organised yearly since 2013 at the Albergue Olimpico in Salinas. In 2018, the competition gathered the highest number of participants ever and the President of Puerto Rico’s National Olympic Committee Ms Sara Rosario Vélez spoke at the event.
The FEDPR is the 17th full member of the IFSC Pan American Council and its inclusion will be officially ratified by the XVII IFSC General Assembly taking place in Paris (FRA) on April 23 and 24.
