IFSC RELEASES 2020/2021 OFFICIAL SPORT EQUIPMENT CATALOGUE

The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Sport Department published the 2020/2021 version of the IFSC Official Sport Equipment Catalogue.

The aim of the catalogue is to make Sport Climbing fields of play consistent and fair across the entire calendar of IFSC competitions. To ensure that each event organiser is able to deliver the same level of experience to its stakeholders — e.g. athletes, broadcasters and sponsors — the IFSC will enforce the use of authorised equipment only.

Due to their importance, the highest priority has been place on holds, macros and volumes. A wide range of elements is necessary to guarantee versatile route setting and higher level of competition, and a minimum of three different providers per competition is required by the IFSC.

Finally, to comply with the Olympic Charter Rule 50, the Catalogue sets higher standards of cleanliness of the venue, including the display and sizing of logos on holds, macros and volumes.
