IFSC STAFF ATTEND FIRST INTERNAL SEMINAR IN THE LEAD UP TO TOKYO 2020

An intensive, fruitful seminar held at the IFSC Headquarters, today, saw the participation of the entire IFSC Staff, who officially resumed the preparation for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

The symposium, opened by a welcome speech of IFSC President Marco Scolaris, and by a message delivered via teleconference by IFSC Vice-President Toru Kobinata, was enriched by the presence of two illustrious guest speakers: Mr Ivo Ferriani, IOC Executive Board member and President of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, and Mr Hugo Herrnhof, Speed Skating Sports Director at the International Skating Union.

Mr Ferriani and Mr Herrnhof both shared their valuable experience in the Olympic Movement with the IFSC Staff, bringing their additional, original point of view to the table.

Mr. Ferriani said:

“It’s been an honour for me to be part of this seminar. In just a few years, the IFSC became an added value of the Olympic Programme. Being a longtime friend of the IFSC President I had the chance to witness the growth of the sport, it’s appealing, universal, easy to access, and its potential is huge.”

Mr. Herrnhof said:

“To be here, today, at the IFSC is a great pleasure for me. I had the chance to meet the staff and transfer what I’ve learned and what I’ve experienced in my career — first as an athlete, and then as a sport manager.”
