WHERE TO WATCH THE IFSC WORLD CUP IN BRIANÇON
The first World Cup of the 2020 Sport Climbing season in Briançon, France, is set to appear on screens around the world this weekend and over the coming weeks, thanks to the numerous broadcasting deals secured by the International Federation of Sport Climbing. With a 38% increase in broadcasting coverage compared to the IFSC World Cup Briançon 2019, this year’s event is set to reach a record high.
According to the latest information received by broadcasters, live coverage of the event finals is to be provided by NBC Olympic Channel Home of Team USA, French channel L’Equipe (online), Japanese network J Sports and in the Czech Republic, national public broadcaster CTV Sports. In Slovenia the women’s finals shall be broadcast live (22 August 19.40 CEST) on RTV Slovenia (SLO 2), with the men’s finals airing delayed-as-live later the same evening (22.50 CEST) and replays on August 23 and 25. ESPN Latin America will stream the event live on their OTT platform, as well as offering TV coverage. The Olympic Channel will also stream both semi-finals and finals of the IFSC World Cup Briançon 2020 live online.
Delayed broadcasting coverage will be provided by Taiwanese channels VL Sports and ELTA TV, Japanese channel NHK, and French network Canal+.
On YouTube, the semi-finals and finals shall be streamed live via the IFSC official channel. Following the event, the full competition will be shown on Chinese social media platform Weibo, again on the IFSC official channel. Also in China, the IFSC Douyin platform will focus on stand-out performances at the 2020 Briançon World Cup.
