The youth athletes took their turn in the spotlight at the annual IFSC Climbing Youth World Championships from August 22 to 31. The future stars of Sport Climbing gathered at the Iconic Rockmaster Climbing Stadium in Arco, Italy to compete in Bouldering, Lead and Speed for a chance to be crowned the youth world champions of 2019.
During the 10 days of non-stop climbing, the athletes were separated by age into three categories, Juniors (18-19), Youth A (16-17) and Youth B (14-15). With many of the youth world champions from last year’s Youth World Championships in Moscow competing on the main World Cup circuit and in the recently concluded IFSC Climbing World Championships Hachioji 2019, this was an exciting event to see which new climbers would rise to the top.
