Personal details

When you started competing in international competitions, did you see yourself being in the top10?
At my first competition, no. But after, I knew that I was going on international competitions only to be in the top10. I don’t want to go in another country very far not to make a top10.
What motivated you to compete rather than just to climb outside?
The victory. And the sensations and feelings in competition are really different than outside. I think they are better and more intense.
What are some struggles you face as an athlete?
It can be very hard to train every day. I am also a student so I have work to do every day, and it isn’t always easy to deal with both. But for me, the hardest thing as an athlete is to accept defeat, in order to be better.
What influenced you to start competing?
When I was young, my brother climbed a lot. He pushed me to competition when I was in youth B category and I loved it immediately.
Who most helped you get to where you are right now?
I think that it is Sylvain Chapelle, the French team coach. He learned me every thing that I know in speed climbing, and he guided me to the top10. Without him, I don’t think that I would have the same level in climbing.
What advice could you give to Young Athletes?
It is very important to have an objective and to pursue it. But it is essential not to forget our social life and family. Climbing a lot is great, but it is very healthy to do other things, other sports, and not to forget school and studies!
What are some of your favourite hobbies?
I like to play and listen to music, play video games and study sciences, like every other twenty
years old man I think. I read too, and I enjoy some quality time with my loved ones.
