When you started competing in international competitions, did you see yourself being in the top-10?
I started competing when I was 14 years old (1styear female youth B category), but before that I participated at Arco rock junior. I saw myself among the top-10 climbers after a few years of competing, but not at 16 years of age.
What motivated you to compete rather than just to climb outside?
Through the years I started training harder and harder and I realized that I could be the best climber in the world. I love when adrenaline goes through your veins, when you are on your own on the wall and you try to give your best and utilize everything from your training. Everyone is watching and cheering for you.
What are some struggles you face as an athlete?
Many sacrifices for training (hanging out with friends out of school, holidays at sea,…), but trainings are what I love to do so nothing else is as important.
What influenced you to start competing?
I am competing since I was a little kid at first I didn’t even know why am I competing. I grew up with competitions and after years I still love to do that. It motivated me because competitions are the only way to see where you are with your performance among the other climbers and what you need to improve to be the best.
Who most helped you get to where you are right now?
My coach, parents and friends.
What advice could you give to Young Athletes?
Focus on your goals, work hard for them and never give up.
What are some of your favourite hobbies?
Besides school and climbing I don’t have time for anything else. Even if I had time for anything else, I would still go climbing.
