VIRTUAL IFSC OFFICIALS SEMINAR TO TAKE PLACE ON FEBRUARY 4 AND 5

The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Officials Seminar will take place virtually this Thursday and Friday, February 4 and 5.

The Officials Seminar is the yearly meeting organised by the IFSC with technical delegates, jury presidents, judges and routesetters. Due to international travel restrictions that are still in place, this year’s seminar will be held virtually, with people connecting via teleconference from all around the world.

The meeting will be introduced by IFSC Vice President Toru Kobinata. IFSC Sport Director and other members of the IFSC Sport Department will also participate. Following the Officials Seminar, the IFSC will publish the 2021 IFSC Officials List and the 2021 IFSC Officials Nominations.

The schedule of the seminar is as follows – all times are UTC+1:00:

  • Thursday, February 4 – 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm: Plenary session
  • Thursday, February 4 – 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Routesetters’ session
  • Friday, February 5 – 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm: Technical delegates’, jury presidents’ and judges’ session
  • Friday, February 5 – 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Plenary session

In 2019 the IFSC Officials Seminar saw the participation of Italian rugby player Giovanbattista Venditti, while former Italian volleyball player and Olympic silver medalist Andrea Zorzi attended in February 2020.
