On January 17th and 18th the IFSC President Marco Scolaris, IFSC Secretary General Debra Gawrych, and IFSC Vice President Treasurer and Finances Pierre Henri Paillasson met with IFSC staff in Torino, Italy.
This meeting occurred in the frame of the usual annual auditing made by IFSC auditor Andrea Barabino.
It was an opportunity to take a review of the past year from a broader perspective and map out the primary strategy and aims for 2017, to be later discussed inside the EB. Feedback on the 2016 season from continental councils, organizers, athletes, officials and National Federations was analysed, ahead of the Executive Board meeting and the Plenary Assembly in Quebec City in March. Attention was also dedicated to new members and membership issues.
The IFSC is committed to providing athletes with top-level events to demonstrate their skills all over the world. The 2017 World Cup season is set to do just that, while Youth Competitions will be crowned by the Youth World Championships in Innsbruck this September. The IFSC also looks forward to participating in the World Games in Wroclaw this July.
