"With a typical female discretion Marietta was one of those athletes who did not miss an event for more than 15 years, and she almost never missed a final! 10 times German Champion in lead and 2 in Bouldering, she collected medals in 1997, bronze at the World Championship in Paris, and bronze again in the European Championship, in Munich, in 2000, when she also got a gold medal in the Bouldering World Cup in Munich again (her hometown). She concluded her career with an excellent bronze medal at the 2005 World Games, in Duisburg.
She passed away on November 2014, a sad loss for the climbing community."
