IFSC Continues Peace and Sport Efforts

The 9th Peace and Sport Forum in Monaco took place last month and the IFSC continued their participation in the annual event.

Hundreds of leading figures from numerous sectors convened on November 23rd-25th for workshops and sessions on how sport can help promote peace in the world. Altogether, 3,500 delegates from 115 nations attended.

"This year was very important for our Federation, which obtained the positive Olympics result," says IFSC Honorary Member Paola Gigliotti, representing the IFSC at the Forum since 2010. "Our active involvement in Peace and Sport activities added to the success of 2016. As put best on their website, 'the positive results generated by the Peace through Sport movement demonstrate that sport can make a valuable contribution to inspire and motivate the global community to act for peace.'"
