The fifth Lead event of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup Series 2022 saw the city of Koper, Slovenia, make its debut on the international circuit, as the athletes faced the four qualification routes set on the brand-new wall of Plus Climbing Koper.

Yurikusa Ao of the Japan placed at the top of the ranking in the men’s round, scoring a top on route number 1 and 33+ on route number 2. Switzerland’s Sascha Lehmann and Spain’s Alberto Ginés López followed in second and third position, respectively.

With USA’s Colin Duffy, and Czech Republic’s Adam Ondra not competing, and Duffy’s teammate Jesse Grupper finishing in 32nd place, the only athlete with a chance of winning his second Lead gold medal of the season is Homma Taisei of Japan – fifth in the qualification ranking.
